Intensive Seminar

Visual Shakespeare

William Shakespeare, the poet, theatre manager and playwright was born in Stratford-upon-Avon in Warwickshire in 1564. Over the course of the past four hundred years his plays have been reimagined in performance, as films, as comic books, and in countless allusions made by other authors and playwrights. The papers and presentations in this seminar will all be dealing with the visual expression of William Shakespeare within a multimodal framework of films, art, comics, text and modern digital media.

The seminar will take place at the University of Agder, April 11 10:00-16:00, Building I1, room 066
